About Nisarga------1

Nisarga- a Kannada novel by Mirji Annaraya of Shedbal draws its material from a social life in north Karnataka. It is a story about the sufferings of the heroine who could not marry her childhood friend. It deals with the social life of north Karnataka around 1940. Childhood marriages were practiced in those years. People were illiterate and farming was the main occupation. Most of the marriages use to take place within the relationship. Love marriages are becoming common now a day and child hood marriages are completely banned after independence. Childhood marriages in those days are probably a method of parents to manage and bend their children as they like.

I am Raju, I have read, re-read Nisarga novel during and after BSc graduation too. I have gifted this book to my amma, and my friends who were doing other professional graduations. Some of them too purchased many copies to gift their friends. Nisarga has depicted pure north Karnataka love and social life.
